As Balıkesir University, we are strengthening our technological infrastructure in order to continuously improve the quality of our education and provide our students with a better academic experience. In this context, a new e-mail system has been introduced to facilitate communication and access to information for all our students.
A dedicated e-mail address ending with “@baun.edu.tr” and containing each student’s student ID number has been automatically created. For example, a student with the student ID number 12345678 will have the e-mail address “12345678@baun.edu.tr”.
These e-mail addresses have been activated through our University’s Student Information System (OBS), and all official announcements related to education will be communicated through these addresses. Students are also required to use these e-mail addresses when communicating with academic staff and administrative units.
The passwords for your e-mail accounts have been created by adding “Ab” immediately after your Turkish Republic Identification Number (T.C. ID number). For example, if your T.C. ID number is 12345678901, your e-mail account password will be “12345678901Ab”.
For students registered as of the Fall 2024 semester, e-mail account passwords have been created by adding “Ab!” immediately after the T.C. ID number. For example, if your T.C. ID number is 12345678901, your e-mail account password will be “12345678901Ab!”.
You can access the e-mail system through the Student section on Balıkesir University’s main website (www.balikesir.edu.tr) or via the “Student E-Mail” link under the “Quick Links” menu at the bottom of the page. For your security, you must change your password immediately after your first login.
It is of great importance that our students actively use and regularly check their university e-mail accounts. Important information, such as the academic calendar, examination announcements, and assignment and project notifications, will also be shared through these e-mail addresses.
